Introduction:
A Dry Type Pillar Fire Hydrant (also called a Dry Barrel Hydrant) is a type of fire hydrant commonly used in areas where temperatures can drop below freezing. Unlike wet barrel hydrants, the water does not stay in the hydrant’s barrel when it is not in use. Instead, the valve controlling the water flow is located below the frost line (underground), preventing water from freezing inside the hydrant.
